FAMILY LAW MEDIATION

Family Law Mediation

Mediation is a way to negotiate agreements and resolve legal disputes out of court. Together with the mediator, you and the other party work out resolutions that everyone can commit to. Family law mediations typically concern divorce, custody, or non-marital romantic partnership break-ups.

At Jarratt Law, P.C., you will work with Amanda Jarratt. Amanda has created a system that guides you through the divorce process. Amanda divides the issues present in your case into manageable chunks. Every mediation session focuses on a particular issue in your case. For instance, if you have children, we start by working on a parenting plan. Once one issue is resolved, we move onto the next. If needed, we can revisit or even combine different issues if we happen to have some loose ends that need to be tidied up. Together, we look for mutually beneficial resolutions. Most parties come to mediation without attorneys; however, you are encouraged to consult with attorneys outside of the mediation sessions. In between sessions, Amanda and the staff of Jarratt Law, P.C. work on preparing court mandated paperwork. Mediation resolves family law matters in less time, for less money, and with less stress than other more traditional legal solutions.

Amanda helps to keep the parties focused on outcomes, on constructive communication, and prepares legal documents. Mediation is most effective when the parties are committed to minimizing conflict. However, this does not mean that you will always agree. Family law issues are emotionally challenging. Amanda Jarratt is able to support you through the hurt while guiding you towards resolution.
